COVID-19 Update on Appointment Scheduling

Dear Patients:

As we all navigate through the current COVID19 crisis, the safety of our patients, staff and community is very important to us.  Therefore, please be advised of the below points.

  • Heekin Clinic will have limited office hours during this time.  We will be open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 8:30am – 4:00PM.  While we are closed on Mondays and Wednesdays, our patients will still be able to reach us during these days.  Please call our office at 904.328.5979 and a number to reach one of our staff members will be given to you.

  • ONLY THE PATIENT will be allowed in the exam room during the visit.  Everyone else accompanying the patient will be asked to wait in their car (waiting room is for patients only).  If a caregiver needs to be in the room with the patient, please alert the staff ahead of time. We suggest that all patients park on the 6th level of the DePaul building in case you need to wait in the car.

  • We offer TELEHEALTH visits.  When scheduling a follow-up appointment, you will be asked if you would prefer this option.

  • Please do not wait until the last minute to call in medication refill requests.  The turnaround time is still the same: 24-48 hours. Medication requests will not be handled during the weekends.

  • Many of the imagining and physical therapy facilities are closed at this time; thus, causing a backlog at the companies who have remained open.  Please be patient and know that everyone is working hard to get your testing scheduled in a timely manner.

  • As a reminder, if your insurance requires prior authorization for an office visit with us, it is the PATIENT’S responsibility to obtain the auth.  Please call your primary care physician for this process. If you do not have an authorization at the time of your appointment, your visit will need to be rescheduled.  This applies to telehealth visits as well.

  • St. Vincent’s is screening all people who enter their facilities, including the DePaul building.

The situation surround the COVID-19 virus is fluid and forever changing.  We will keep our patients updated with any changes that affect our patients.

It is our hope and prayer that you and your family stay safe during this time.

STAY HOME (only travel for ESSENTIAL reasons).  WASH YOUR HANDS.
